I found this bike for sale at a Bazaar in Florida in late 1998. It is in excellent condition requiring only a good cleaning. An interesting model, it has the Shimano Front Freewheeling System,(FFS), which permits shifting while coasting. The FFS places the freewheeling function in the bottom bracket rather than in the rear hub. The deraillier is the Positron type with the positional detents in the deraillier rather than in the shifter. In my opinion, that is where the detents belong in order to eliminate cable stretch as a factor in adjustment. Upon riding the bike, I found that the Positron shifter cable was broken at the deraillier. I turned to my usual source for old parts; "Third Hand/Loose Screws" who sold me two cables at half price.
My wife rides the bike often in the summer. It is fairly heavy at 32 lbs. which accounts for its smooth ride. In my opinion, these bikes are under-appreciated by collectors.
I hope you enjoyed looking at this bike and I welcome your comments.
